More than 50 years ago my grandfather gave me a
Jon Gnagy Learn to Draw kit.

Those simple exercises of drawing with
charcoal and pastels, drawings of pumpkins
and ponchoed Mexicans, started a lifelong interest in making art.
I went to school to earn a BFA at Sir George Williams in Montreal, but
thought that I could never make a living with it, so switched to business.
I earned an MBA and had a successful marketing career, but always dabbled.

When I retired I got back to the making of art. I attended workshops
and worked with artists, set up a studio in an old warehouse,
and then moved it to my home.
I do so love spending an afternoon painting, or sitting at my wheel.
Having had years of experience in the structure of working in large corporations
I recognize the freedom of working on my own seeking an
outlet for my creative urge. I come up with an idea and see where it goes.

My ceramic mugs, and ceramic fish can be found at Two Whales
Coffee Shop in Port Rexton, Fishers' Loft Inn at Ship Cove in
Port Rexton, and at the English Harbour arts Centre Gallery
in English Harbour (Trinity Bay), Newfoundland.

My work has traveled to Hollywood, CA, Toronto, ON, St. John's, NL, Ottawa, ON, Vancouver, BC,  Avon, CT, NYC, Tucson, AZ, and somewhere in Florida.

I work out three times a week, practice Jivamukti yoga and meditation,
have a dog named Buddy and a cat named Joe, and
am thankful for my health and loving family and
friends.
